As a continuation of our year long attempt to visit at least half of the countries in the world ... Prague, Cuba, Budapest, Berlin a couple of times and probably somewhere else, we spent a whole day last week in Latvia. Someone's idea of a good Christmas night out, and, lets face it, cheaper than an ordinary night out at Newcastle quayside ...

Unfortunately, Mr Rufus Wainwright wasn't with us. He was, however at the Sage in Gateshead (although the poor man seemed to be a bit confused about where he actually was, "Gateshead? So not Newcastle? Can I mention Newcastle?') and we realised it would have been rude not to go and say hello to him. So we did ...
