A couple of recent gems from children.Sophie: Grandad, have you been out hunting? It took a little while to figure this one out; I was wearing combat pants.
Rhiannon: On my thing at school, I'm shown as Roman Catholic, but most people are Bank of England.

I've done very little this weekend; just some basic house stuff, nothing really of interest. I've had plenty spare time on my hands to do something nice, or even productive. Referring to the latter, my lack of motivation this weekend meant that I had to do some work tonight. This directly resulted in my failure to check my bids in ebay. And this, in turn, led to my missing out on this. The history of my street and I miss it. Bloody typical.Sunday 21 January 2007 00:50
Tonight I went to see Mat's band, Rioga, at the Georgian Theatre (it sounds impressive, but it's a dump) in Stockton. I didn't particularly fancy it, but I was at a bit of a loose end so I thought what the hell. I'd been more than a little dubious since the last time I'd seen Mat we'd almost come to blows because he was being an arse with Lucy. However, before they played tonight, he came up to me and started talking. Apologies had already been made to Lucy, but I'd not known that. But I'd always liked Mat and it really mattered to me that he had the guts to make an approach. It didn't take much; just a nod and an expression, but we both understood. It was cool and everything's ok again. as for the band; they were ridiculously good. They were very 'different', but good. I've known Duncan (he's in the band too) for years, and I'd never have placed him with the rest of the band, but it worked just fine. It's strange how a 'nothing' sort of an evening can work out really well. My faith in people has also been restored.
