Plumbing

After only ten years, the cold water tap in the bathroom washbasin is now working again. I tend to avoid plumbing, since I’ve had past disasters, but today I’ve successfully fitted new pipes, along with my first ever compression joints.

Bathroom

From a square foot perspective, the bathroom’s been my longest ever decorating project. It’s a tiny room, but there’s hardly an inch that hasn’t changed. I do concede that my frequent lack of motivation has delayed things quite a lota little, and it’s important not to neglect one’s social calendar.

But it’s almost finished now.

Valspar

Valspar. They make spray paint. I usually buy Halfords’ or Plastikote (preferred), but B&Q seem to have switched to Valspar spray paints. I’ve heard of the brand name, but I’d not associated it with aerosol paint.

It seems to work ok, although I wouldn’t have needed to buy the stuff if B&Q had the right colour bits in stock.

Weekend

Yesterday, I removed the last of the plaster from the bathroom wall. And, so, I rewarded myself.

That particular beer was enjoyed in Dat Bar, in town. It was followed by a couple of others. Town was pretty quiet, we even managed to get a decent seat in the Bridge. So I was able to enjoy the panelling.

The evening ended in Centurian after bumping into a mate (Dave) in Pink Lane.

This morning, despite a fierce hangover, I began pointing the wall. It only took ages a little while to finish.

Plastering next, but not that wall obviously.

Happy new stuff

The high level bridge was a pretty cool place to be a few minutes ago. Currently in the Bridge Hotel, enjoying a pint of erdinger.

The evening may not have been as special as last year (Local Authority spending constraints had an impact I imagine), but it was still good.

Time for a cab I think.

Meat is Murder II

A few weeks ago, possibly influenced by beer, I bought a Morrissey T-shirt. Being a standard Gildan printed shirt, it didn’t quite fit, so I decided to copy it.

As I’ve mentioned previously, I’m not a Morrissey fan, but I do:
1) agree with his views about animals
2) like the shirt

Anyway, it worked out ok.

Shandy

Shandygaff, or Radler, seems to have been invented in either England or Germany, around the early 1900s. Possibly as a drink for workers or cyclists. According to differing accounts on the Internet, that is.

Either way, it’s very refreshing after chopping firewood. Mine was made with Double Maxim and was particularly nice.

Brewery update

My back aches considerably, but I’ve made further progress with the shed. The light was fading by the time I’d finished for the day, though, so the picture doesn’t do it justice.

Oh, and I’ve now gotten around to adding some pictures of my previous attempt to make the shed usable.
