Today saw new floorboards in the spare room.
They run the full length of the room and we’re a bugger to lay. But we now have floors without gaps.

Switched to calendar days; a bigger number, but a more satisfying countdown.
I might have to be sensible more often. After a few pints of Guinness after work, then a takeaway pizza, I retired much earlier than usual.
Which enabled an early start to my Saturday. This morning, at a time I’d usually be eating toast, I’ve already:
– Been to the bank to withdraw boiler funds
– Collected a prescription
– Bought (and consumed) a Greggs’ vegan sausage roll
– Bought my first beer of the day
For the latter, I chose a refreshing blood orange IPA, in the Mean Eyed Cat. Well, after all, I’d usually be drinking orange juice at this time of day.
Quite possibly the best, simplest multitool I’ve come across.
Geekey. It even includes a pipe (yes, a pipe). It’s almost a shame I don’t smoke.
After putting it off for months, today I started plastering in the bedroom.
We knew our small amount of apples would make only a little cider, but there’s actually more than we’d expected.
We made pies. Apple pies. From our tree.
Which is a waste because they should have been involved in cider production.
Bubbling away nicely.
Making a very small batch of cider. With apples from our tree.
If this works, we shall make a larger quantity next year.
The first apples from our tree this year.
More will follow tomorrow. And then we shall make cider.
