I have mixed feelings about the room merger, even though I know it was the right thing to do. But, from the landing, you can’t see that there was ever a second door.
I’m quite good at this plastering malarkey.
Today has, so far, been spent in a post decorating clean-up and some gardening.
A small tree and a bush have been removed today, in advance of next summer’s project.
The garden, which is small, now looks bigger.
And, after demolishing the barbeque (which hasn’t been used in many years), I shall have enough space for my experiment in cob.
I’m now sitting in the garden, with a beer, listening to the baby woodpigeons moving around in the tree.
I’m paint spattered and dusty, but content that the spare bedroom, which was once two bedrooms, is now finished.
As is usual with any couple, there were disputed finishing touches. I asserted myself, though, hanging my old, beloved Cyndi Lauper poster.
Which was quickly replaced by William McCarthy.
