Busy

Work’s been mad again lately, ridiculously busy the past couple of months and likely to be so for at least the next few weeks.

I’ve started to make some time for other things I need to get done though. For example, our

new wardrobes.

You have to use a bit of imagination, but we’re making progress. More wood was needed so a trip to Wickes after work yesterday was necessary. This involved the discovery that 2.4M lengths of wood will fit into a Ford KA. Without bits sticking out of the boot or windows.

Oh, I’m also painting a new T-shirt. It has an Eels theme.

Work-team-Christmas

Went out for a meal with my team this afternoon/evening. Which was very nice. Sam Smith’s Imperial Stout may have been involved. Take heed, tis dangerous stuff.

Wetness

I’m presently in (the back of) a car, returning from a team event in Preston. Last night I stayed in a hotel room which had city views.

I also received special treatment in a restaurant yesterday evening. I was given my very own sign.

After a waiter dropped a pint of beer on me.

Improvements

I’ve not travelled by train in a little while so hadn’t appreciated that work on Central Station had gotten underway. On the inside, that is( the outside’s been a mess for a few months now.

Room with a view

I used to travel quite a lot with my job, but thankfully don’t have to much at all nowadays. Unfortunately, though, it’s unavoidable.

At least I get to stay in nice places.

Kumbaya

A man is sitting just inside the entrance to Central Station. He appears quite drunk, but is doing a most unusual rendition of kumbaya.

Cheviot House

Demolition of Cheviot House, in Washington, has begun. I’d never worked there, but knew a few people who had done. It was only built in the 80s and looked still to be in good condition, while the surrounding 1970s offices are looking rough.

I know it’s been empty for a while, but it still seems such a waste.

A very important note (addendum)

After reading the inside page of my leaflet, I’ve also learned that I must avoid:
Fornication
Uncleanness
Idolatry
Witchcraft
Hatred
Wrath
Strife
Heresies
Envy
Murder
Drunkenness
Revellings

Which is a shame because I fancy a bit of revelling.
