Strawberry Camden Hells. I said Strawberry Camden Hells.
In the Ostrich. In Peterborough. A truly great bar.

After experiencing disappointment when visiting Peterborough over the past year and a half, I was extremely pleased to find that the Wortley Almshouses has recently reopened.
He who watches over us is currently watching over me while my second in command has her nails done.
I’ve missed him.
Last night, we bumped into Brian, in a bar in Bournemouth. What’s unusual about that, you ask. Well, we only know Brian from our local in Gateshead.
He’s working here for a few weeks.
There are many pubs in Bournemouth. Synchronicity.
An interesting pub sign, particularly for a Wetherspoon’s pub.
Which is opposite a church, with a graveyard.
What would a visit to Sunderland be without calling in the Isis.
A lovely building. With beer.
With time for a (very) quick pint between trains in Leeds today, I chose the Angel Inn, a great Sam Smith’s pub.
Can’t believe that the Wortley Almshouses is still closed.
So, instead of paying £2.20 for Sam Smith’s stout, I have £4.40 Guinness in the Brewery Tap.
Now, I do like Guinness, but not for twice the price of a nicer beer. Still, the Brewery Tap’s a nice enough place.
For the second night this week, we’ve stayed in a pub. Tuesday was the Wrens in Leeds, while last night/this morning is the Courthouse Inn, in Thrapston.
It’s quite nice.
Las night involved a trip to Islip, where we found a nice old pub. Run by a man from Gateshead.
We’re staying in a pub tonight. A nice one too, the Wrens.
Thought I’d have a pint of Guinness while I wait for my second in command’s arrival (from Manchester). Unfortunately, the keg ran out. On the other hand, the Guinness was free.
There’s a discount at the bar for guests to. Might stay here again.
The Colpitts Hotel, a rather excellent Sam Smith’s pub in Durham.
As is often found in their pubs, a nice fire.
The Swan and Three Cygnets is also a good Sam Smith’s pub.
And then there’s the Tin of Sardines, which is allegedly the smallest bar in Durham. A gin bar.
We like gin. And the Head of Steam.
Wsitting for a train. In the Waiting Room.
Fortunately there is beer.
