A dozen and a half
The age of my eldest grandchild, that is. With reference to the Lovely Eggs. Who a number of us went to see last night (including said grandchild). Two of the eight weren’t too keen, but six were impressed. The support’s unusually worthy of mention. Because he was ridiculously good; Phil Jupitus. As were the eggs themselves.

Voluntary work
Thought I’d do some work to benefit my local community.
It’s a little more phone friendly than the existing site.
I’ve not spent long on it, so it’s mostly placeholder pages while I get the structure right. So it’s nowhere near ready to be published.

Christmas quiz
With a team of only two, my second and I managed a respectable 7th of 20-and a bit.
In our local’s annual Christmas quiz.
And we didn’t cheat at all.

Random old stuff
I have a fondness for old things. Furniture mostly. But I do love old brick and stone.
Some brickwork I found in a bar in Birmingham the other week.
And some from a bar in Leeds, on Friday.
And from another bar in Leeds.
Then one from today, in the garden. Stone this time.
This one’s going to be a future project; there’s a few more hours of wire brushing first though.

The Angel Inn
The Angel Inn, in Leeds, always reminds me of an old mate, with whom I lost touch a few years ago.
He was, probably still is, a nice bloke. The Pub is a nice pub. Well, it’s a Sam Smith’s pub, so nice, fishless beer is always plentiful. With a gap between trains, I called in for a pint of stout (a mere £2.30). Then had a second.
While I could have easily stayed longer, my only mate in Leeds is in Croydon right now, so a return to the station was in order. Via the Head of Steam.
Where a man brought flowers to me.
Returning to tbe Angel Inn, I should mention that it’s in a cool location.
I should also mention that the flowers were a form of advertising. I may have thanked the man for bringing flowers for me. He may also have said that I he did so because I appeared to be ‘sad and alone’.
